Walter O. "Walt" Hamilton, 61, owner and operator of Walt's Mobil Service at the corner of Wabash Avenue and Green Street since 1968,, was dead on arrival at Culver Hospital at 4:05 p.m. Friday after being stricken in his home at 511 W. Market. He had been in failing health one year. Mr Hamilton also had operated the Railway Express distributorship in Crawfordsville until he retired in 1971 after 29 years of service with the company. He attended Milligan Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Lodge and Post 72 American Legion. Mr. Hamilton had attended schools in Lizton and Indianapolis. He was born Oct 3, 1918 in Muncie, a son of Arthur D. and Clovia F. Jones Hamilton. He married Mildred Reynolds Oct 4, 1944 at Pine Village, Ark. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Walter and Roger of Crawfordsville and James E of Virginia; four daughters, Sharon. and Jackie S. Hamilton at home, Cathie J. Bridge of Crawfordsville and Cindy L. Cotten of New Market; three brothers, James and Perry H. of Crawfordsville and Cindy L.. Cotten of New Market; three brothers, James A. and Perry H. of Crawfordsville and Richard of Silver Springs, Md; six sisters, Francis M. Hannebaum of Beatrice P. Nichols of Indianapolis, Dorothy H. Newton of Linden, Bernice H. Mason and Mary Rose Goff of Crawfordsville; Albert H. Ward of Lake Holiday and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Hall officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. The family requests memories be made in the form of donations to the Montgomery County Chapter, American Heart Association.
